Not XFX 680i LT SLI boot – what can I do?
I recently upgraded to this mobo, double checked everything, and everything is interconnected, But right when the computer with the Windows startup screen, but only itself restarts. I've tried all the different kinds of RAM configurations, which I can do, from 256 MB to 8 GB possible in so many different orders. My operating system is Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 My System: Pentium D 935 (2 cores@3.2GHZ) nVidia 8600GT Super + 1GB GTX Light 480W PSU Ram After Before mobo upgrade: 3.5 GB DDR2: 2 to 8 GB DDR2 (dunno), I will install Vista or is there something else I do?
Have you just changed the motherboard without reinstalling your operating system? It will not work. You must reinstall the operating system. So in answer to your question: "Do I have to install on Windows Vista, or is there something else I can do?". Yes, you are not and do not exist. If your PC tries to boot from the Windows installation for your old motherboard, it is loading drivers for the motherboard and old machine …. Die on you. If your hard drive (s) have been partitioned to protect information They are cool and just have the operating system and programs to reinstall. If you do not introduce a distribution system to protect data, then the Hard to make backups to access: 1. Backup your data (if need be): Boot from the Ultimate Boot CD or something similar, rebuilding the old motherboard or put the disk into a second computer as a slave. 2. Reinstall Windows, so that your motherboard drivers installed. 3. Re-install everything else. 4. Restore your data if need be. Bingo!
